So my new Monarch is coming from PUSH and will be here on friday afternoon...but i want to ride tomorrow and had to sell my old shock to pay for the new one...Ive got a Nomad MK1 (shock size 8.5x2.5), and my Superlight is for sale (read: disassembled, with an rp23 7 7/8x 2.25 shock i believe)...
Would I mess anything up with putting the shorter RP23 on the Nomad for one day of XC riding? I know the geo would feel a little wierd, but I wanna ride...
As long as they are the same length eye to eye and have the correct stroke it will work. The only difference typically with the RP23 that goes on the Superlight/Blur/Tallboy is that it is a smaller shock with a shorter stroke for the new models, but it may be correct for the MK1
guess im gonna give up on this idea since i cant get the bushings out of the rp23 to put the nomad ones in...(larger bolt diameter for shock mounts...)
