51mm offset Fork on a Tallboy?

Anyone have any experience with a 51mm offset fork on a Tallboy? I am in the market for a new fork, and it seems that Fox, X-Fusion, Rockshox are all offering the 51mm offset in 29er forks....almost seems to becoming the defacto standard offset in 29er forks....

Works just fine. The slightly reduced trail will make the Tallboy handle snappier, while still retaining the stable traits of that bike's slacker, Trail-oriented geometry.

51mm offset Fork on a Tallboy?

Is that e ride feedback, or hands on trail info? Was the fork set at 100 or 120mm??

I've got a 120mm Trace on my Tallboy 2 and love it. Sz L frame with a 70mm stem. I don't have a direct comparison with another fork on this bike as this is my first Tallboy and also the fork I built it up with. That being said though I have no complaints in the bike's handling department and can't say one way or the other if the 51mm offset makes a big difference. The thing I do notice is the additional stiffness of the 34mm stanchions vs the 32mm stanchions on my previous 2 bikes.

51mm offset Fork on a Tallboy?

Can someone school me on this fork offset thing and the options...,

Isn't 46mm the standard and as I'm reading 51mm is now becoming an option....

I thought a 51mm offset would make for a slower steering and stable ride...
