New question here. What Selma sus forks?

    Hi all,

I'm riding my scandium Selma with Niner carbon forks (475 mm axle to crown by my measure).

I'm thinking I'd like some suspension forks, the Salsa site says the frame is optimised for 80mm travel. They're not so easy to find nowadays though, in the UK anyhow.

    Anyone know if:
    * the Niners are equivalent to 80m or 100mm travel?
    * anyone riding a Selma with 100mm sus?

    Ta.

Isn't it pretty easy to reduce travel on most forks? Surely you just get some 100mm Rebas or SIDs and get the travel reduced (if you're determined to have 80mm). What I'd do myself is give 'em a few rides at 100mm to see I liked that. (if you do like it then you could reverse you stem to lower you bar height). I love my El-Mar Ti. It's fab for 98% of my trails but every time I do a fast bumpy descent on it, I think to myself "Blimey I'd just love to try some 120mm forks to see if that'd make it a bit less scary" I thnk Salsa stipulate that you don't exceed 100mm though - Awwwww!

    Oh PS.
Fabulous looking bike - definitely prettier than my El-Mar LOL.

yeah I may well end up starting with 100mm, but I want to have the facts straight first.

I measured the A/C on my 120mm Revelations (from another bike), unsagged, at 510mm, so that suggests to me the Niners at 470mm would be roughly the same as a sagged 100mm suspension fork anyway. Or put another way, I think I'm already running 100mm equivalent anyway.

The other advantage of getting a 100mm for fork is that it'll have much better re-sale potential than some wierd and out-moded 80mm item.
