    Spearfish Frame Bag

Anybody ever tried one of these frame bags?

I don't really do any bike packing, but this might be a nice alternative to a camelbak for some of those long hot summer rides. I prefer weight on the bike to weight on my back.

I have not used the Spearfish bag, but have a good friend that uses these frame bags for his Mukluk and he loves them. He says they are very good quality and, although not big, they can hold a fair amount.

This will be an upcoming purchase for myself as I agree with having the weight low on the bike instead of high on my back.

If I had a Spearfish there would be no question I would be using one of these. Frame bags are super useful and a brilliant use of space. I can also atest to quality for Revelate's products. I have been using a Fargo/El Mar bag for bikepacking and commuting use for over a year now without issue.

Anyone know if one of these would fit a 'fish if you turned it upside down?

The Relelate bag looks great, but this is less than 1/3 the price. Yes, I am cheap.

I use one and it works great! It has a house out that allows for a bladder to be used in it. I velcro the hose to the stem. I can easily carry what I need to a 4+ hour ride in it.

Cool. I ordered the Jandd bag. Doing a 150 tour up in VA the first week of May and I hope I can work it out to not have to carry a Camelbak. Or at least to carry a lighter one that doesn't kill me after 4 hours.

Nuts, wish I could catch you before you bought the bag. There are so many other companies out there. Jpaks.com is making some pretty neat bags for the front of the triangle. Check out Bikepackersmagazine.com for all things bikepacking. Also, the new salsa spearfish will not fit with a Revelate frame bag...until he makes them. For a full bag, Nuclear Sunrise or Bike Bag Dude are also great options.
