Yes ive got mine; XX1 beautiful blue!

i think the ownwers spend more time riding it, not writing about it....

i changed the tires. the shop offered free change from racing ralph to rocket ron ..

with the michelin green latex tubes inside.

changed the 34 for a 30 tooth blade... thinking it would be to big for this time of year...

the bike works well! only use the propedal position on long paved climbs..

    it really rides smooth...

going a lot faster on the downhills than i did on mamasita...

not losing time uphill according to strava...

i love this bike good no nonsense parts and a suspension that works great and doesnt bop you around!!

even with propedal open no bopping...

gonna change the front brake rotor far a 180 .. the standard 160 is to small for me..

glad i bought it!! no compare to other 26er fullies i ve owned before..

Salsa thanx!!! you did it right!!!

I have a couple of rides on my new Horsethief 1 and the Split Pivot is indeed the real deal. I have a 2012 Spearfish 1 and love it (after PUSH'ing the rear shock) but the new bike is so good I am thinking about a 2014 Spearfish frame.

Pretty sure the title of this thread is "where are the 2014 spearfish build PICS....". Hint hint.

Thought I took some shots on the inaugural ride, but I guess I didn't press the button hard enough. Anywhere, here are 90% finished build pics. Seatpost/seat are not final, nor is the steerer tube length.

It pedals well, although until I play with the shock more right now I have left it in 'trail' mode as it was bobbing in 'descend'. The slack (for an xc bike) head angle and short stays are a lot of fun.

Has anyone built a 2014 up with a non 51mm offset fork? I'm thinking about buying frame only and would like to start with an existing fork.

Insanely beautiful frame color. Totally on my trickle-down list.
The 1 x set up looks great as well.

I got the 2013 frame a few months ago in black and am liking the anodized finish. You just don't have to worry about paint chips.

I've been riding a rigid SS for over 10 years....the Spearfish is a pleasant change.

Hey all, posted this in the 29er bikes forum, but thought I'd ask here too. Looking for actual performance comparisons between new vs old SF as I'm considering an upgrade to this or another short travel 29er for endurance riding and for tackling long tough rides with mixed terrain:

    2014 Salsa Spearfish

    Thanks!
