Hey, anyone running the Salsa Down Under rack? What do you think? I'm trying to decide between that and a Tubus Duo. The DU is about $40 cheaper. I'd be mounting it on a Surly LHT. Looks like it should mount up no problem. Thanks.

DU=Down Under. Good to know it works well.

Any reason why you haven't trimmed the stays on that minimalist rack?

Salsa needs to make extra stays available. Rivendell does that for the Nitto racks they sell as the stays often need to be trimmed to get proper fit functionally and aesthetically. I like the way the racks connect.

Sure I blogged each day...links below. I don't talk much about the bike in the blog but in summary it was great....I think it handled the load better than my gen 1 fargo which surprised me.....still miss the old paint scheme though. Thumbs up to the salsa racks as well.

some blogage on our trip....turned out to be much more "interesting" than we had anticipated :D
