    Salsa and 650b?

I guess I have been waiting to see if the a la carte was gonna make scone-back as 650b. I love the Surly Instigator but wondering if it is a little too "all mountain" for the majority if my rides. Any rumors on Salsa's intro into the 650b world?

I don't think anybody heard anything for 2015, YET. I'm hoping they come out with a replacement for the Mamasita and it's a 650b package of asskick.

I have a 2011 Ala Carte currently on duty as an All Mountain Hardtail. Could not be happier!

26" or 650b? No problem. 650b rear tyre clearance is fine. Currently my BB height with 26" wheels is 320mm (with large volume Hans Dampf rubber) which is on the low side as is so BB height would be just fine with 650b wheels.

9mm or 12 x 142mm rear axle? No problem thanks to the Alternator dropouts (which also provide an adjustable wheelbase and therefore extra clearance for 650b if needed).

140mm fork? No problem. I have ended up with a 67.5 degree head angle which is on the slack side and pretty ideal for an AM Hardtail.

It seems to me that all Salsa would need do to update a hypothetical 2015 Ala Carte is to throw on a tapered headtube so I could run a Pike. The geometry, at least for my type of riding, is spot on.

And yes, the frame now runs 2x10 before the AM crowd lodges an official complaint...
