26.4 lbs for my Large SF2 with Bonty XR1 2.2s on Easton Haven wheels. 1x10 drive with bash guard, Fox Evo fork, Thompson post, WTB saddle, RXL stem, & cheap Sette bars. It was over 27 with Saguros mounted...

    25.75 lbs

FSA carbon, crank, bar, and seatpost. Crossmax SLR wheels, Racing Ralphs. XT shifters and brakes, hayes rotors. I could probably drop a half pound with some serious spending, but I am pretty happy with it the way it is. I am not a huge fan of the external cables.

    Greg,

Is that a Renthal chain ring? It looks super close to the chain stay! I'd love to ride a SS, lite weight, spearfish! Sweet ride!

It tis a renthal 36t on a 2x10 srm (120 bcd outer) with cannondale arms. I got it to fit on the 122 spindle.

It is really close to the chainstay as it sits, but the cs moves away from the crank on any suspension movement, so that situation gets better not worse.

Great looking rig. Any problems with the tensioner? Does it keep tension well?

I know my Spearfish handles stand up grinding real well. So I thought about doing this too.

Greg - is the tensioner needed to compensate for suspension movement? Otherwise, couldn't an eccentric BB shell with a standard Shimano style 24mm spindle work in place of the tensioner?

@adrenalnjunky - yes... tensioner accomodates for chainstay growth through sus travel.

    I kid, I kid

But - I'm shooting for just under 24. Mostly X0 2x10, Crests on Hope Pro 2 EVO's. Depends on if I have a moment of weakness when buying a cassette. XX loses almost 150 grams over a X9 (PG1070). That's a third of a pound in the cassette by itself.

@1-bar my fox rear shock finally arrived and I have to say, it was night and day the difference it made to my spearfish. To the point I was really surprised about it...

Did it replace a fox or rock shox? I had my fox retuned w the max per pedal and that was night and day.

gregclimbs I am very intrigued by that and thank you for sharing. I have the original 2011 SF and it's time to service the Monarch. Instead of servicing though, I was thinking about replacing with a CTD. Did you just obtain the correct stroke/travel for your frame? I was wondering why Salsa was telling me it would be most effective if it was "tuned" for the SF frame. Appreciate any further comments on the conversion/ride, etc.
