I have been building a 2013 Fargo from the frame up for my wife, using parts from her previous bike. Everything looked good and transferable until I hit the front derailleur part. The drivetrain I am transferring is a 3x9 mix of Sram and Shimano and I thought I could use a Shimano XT FD that I until I tried to route the cable.... No cable stop anywhere to be found! Looking at the build kits, it looks that you can only use some direct mount FD that have integrated cable stops but seem to only come as 10 speed models. My only solution at this stage besides having to change the whole drivetrain is to try to use a 3x10 FD with the Shimano XT crankset 3x9 I have. Has anybody tried before to match a 3x10 FD with a 3x9 drivetrain (front shifter is SRAM X7)?
Thanks for any help!
