Nice to see this thread get bumped back up- I made a few mods to my Red Mariachi- I finally replaced the grips... another set of ODI's- For a while I was running a Thomson Masterpiece post but went to a straight ti and loved it... just installed the laid back ti post and can't say how much it adds to the comfort- between the big rubber, smooth steel, and ti post it is almost cheating calling it a "rigid"! I also ran some 2.4 Racing Ralphs (which did buzz the stays on my flows if I torqued it on a steep climb) I just never fell in love with them and they are very delicate so back to the Weirwolfs... and Rampages in the foul weather-

I had a set of Hope/Flows built up to get a bit more out the the big volume tires- So far this year it has been a SS but I may go back to 1X9 if the need arises... the beauty of the Mariachi it can match your mood-

This thing makes me feel like a kid on a well loved BMX bike- just fun- I have been riding my full squish for the past few rides but can't wait to take the mean red machine soon- Ride on-

    2010 El Mariachi

Sorry guys but I took the lazy approach and pasted the link to pictures of my rig (racing out the door to work!):-

    Show us your bike porn

As stated elsewhere the onlybits that are new is the frame, headset, tyres, chain and grips. The rest has been cobbled from bits and pieces.

My new-to-me frame and fork, done up as a rigid single speed. Only a couple of rides and some backyard practicing so far, but I'm having such a blast on this bike! It really is like being a kid again...

That blue looks darker on yours vs the website. Is that the case or is it your lighting making it darker ? Looks great.

The blue is a little darker than the website photos, but the lighting in that particular photo definitely makes it seem even deeper than it is.

also, i got it at an LBS through qbp. i think qbp had something like 11 frames in stock and i managed to snag one of them.

It's lighter in person, but I haven't seen any pics that are actually the same as the real life color.

Very nice. We have the same frame and grips (and number of gears).

I can't wait to get mine finished.

    Large/20"

Pics have the fork set at 120mm, but I reduced it down to 100mm before I even rode it.

Those new ones are great looking bikes.

Porter, what travel is that fork?

    Also,
Would you say the color is baby blue? Maybe darker? It seems like every picture in this link of the new one shows a very different hue than the next.

    Thanks

They are a baby blue......different cameras make them look different.

The color it pretty spot on to the one on the Salsa website.

Yes it is baby blue but I would like to call it blue bird sky blue

The fork is a 120 talas. I donít have it dialed in at the moment but seems to fit the bike perfect!

    2011 Complete?

How about some more pics of the 2011 Complete? I'm waiting to get one (March), and all I've seen are the pics on the Salsa site.

Would love to see more, to help hold me over.

    Thanks.

It is a Cane Creek Thudbuster LT suspension seat post. They work great. Only downside is that after extended use, the bushings loosen up, and they will develop a rattle. You can get a rebuild kit from Cane Creek though, so they can be restored to like-new operating status.

Nice bike! Is it a Niner fork? Did you have it custom painted?

It's a custom painted niner fork. I've bought a raw one so the paint costs were low.
