Did my Vaya arrive with the wrong fork?

I just got a brand new 2012 Vaya frame and fork delivered and have been putting it together, but ran into this issue:

With the qr fitting into the dropouts, the tyre is jammed right up to the crown (32mm tyre on a 606ERD 29" rim).

This doesn't look like the 405mm fork length that Salsa states, more like the 380mm version.

Fork has '06-000167' stamped onto the brake mount:

    Am I right?

I have emailed the shop, but it would be a while before they can get another fork to me.

Would someone be able to measure their Vaya fork and confirm?

Your picture links are not working.

That said, if it's like you are saying, it's probably the wrong one.

Yeah, really not a question at this point. Wrong fork.

    Thanks.

I am still a little shocked that Salsa's quality control was so poor that they missed this. This is going to turn out to be an expensive build if I have to ship the fork back.

Uh, that issue should not cost you a dime.

    Where did you get it?

I believe the 50 and 52cm sizes are meant to have 26" wheels and come with a shorter fork (see: Salsa Cycles | Bikes | Vaya 2 to confirm your 380mm measurement). What size is the frame?

    If I read the box correctly it's a 56cm.

I do believe you are correct, sounds like a mixup. Also rereading the post, looks like the OP already had the "there are two sizes of vaya forks" information I was trying to help with. I guess you can't trust random armchair forum users for quality postings
