2012 Horsethief: Are stock Contis tubeless compatible?

I'm debating going tubeless on my 2012 Horsethief. I've heard many say that the stock Continental Mountain Kings do not work well with Stan's sealant. A guy at my LBS said they can work, but it's better to use Conti's own sealant rather than Stan's, and a guy at an LBS in Colorado where I was riding last week said that I should just wear out the Contis and get Maxxis or Schwalbe before I think about going tubeless. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have been running the Contis tubless since I got my Horsethief two months ago. Used the Stans sealant with a regular floor pump and had no problems whatsoever. I was expecting the process to be difficult since this was my first tubeless setup but that wasn't the case at all.
