    2012 El Mar 2?

I'm thinking about a new, leftover El Mar 2 that I can get for about $1650. Is the 2013 the same, except for color? Not sure if this is a good price or look to a 2013 for $2k.

I think the slate blue looks better than the black for 2013 but I haven't seen the new one in person.

    Any thoughts?

Seems like the 2012's have been sold out for a while (at least I can't find an XL), and the 2013's aren't available yet (least I can't find one online...).

One key difference on the frame is that the shifter cables are on the downtube (like a road bike) and the '13 has them on the top tube. I have the '12 and I love it. Go for it!

Thanks everyone. So, is that a good price for a leftover 2012? I haven't seen the slate blue in-person. It looks good?

That's the price we sold our one remaining 2012 for, so it's a competitive price. Great bike, especially at that price. Ours was on sale for only a few days before it got snapped up. Willapapajames - the 2013's have been out for a few weeks. We're already sold-out of steel frames, and have moved a number of the complete "2" series. The bike looks great in "the flesh". All of Salsa's colors look great this year, IMO. Can't wait until the Ti bikes come in...
