Hey guys, I haven't posted here in a very long time (It's been 9 years since I was racing) however today I picked up my new 2015 BC instinct.

After previously racing downhill I wanted to get back into the sport, for a couple of reasons I've put on a bit of weight and moto riding didn't really work out for me (I previously had never seen inside a hospital now I've had a shattered foot and an ACL reconstruction.) and wanted something I could use mainly for fitness, XC but still be able to have fun on the downhill without fear of breaking the bike. My local shop had a carbon 2014 on sale but he talked me into waiting to see the new 2015 BC instinct with the alloy frame as it turned out to be exactly what I was after.

Over the last couple of days I was trying to find out more about the bike but was unable to find anything. As my previous bike was a Giant AC-1 and it will be a few weeks before I take it off road (still under going physio for my ACL and they want me to take it easy) I can't really offer any info on the feel/performance or ride. But heres a few specs and some features

I'm up in townsville. Haven't taken it offroad really yet, did a little bit today and it's easily the best bike I've ridden, although my opinion doesn't mean much as I haven't ridden any other modern bikes.

The BC is more all mountain then trail, the normal instinct still has 32mm forks. There was a 2014 carbon instinct going for $400 cheaper, but this had the dropper post and the heavier gear so I couldn't look past it.

I don't think the shops sent it back yet. He put a crank brothers dropper on there for me in the meantime so I haven't really been bothered. It does look like a poor design though, seems to put alot of leverage through a pretty week point on the bottom of the post.
