    Slayer 30/50/70 Chainline/Running 1x10

Is anyone else running 1x10 on their 2011-2013 slayers?

I am and the chainline needed some major adjustment in order to work well at all.

I'm using the stock turbine crankset and bottom bracket with 0 spacers on driveside and 1 on non. On top of that I also have my chainring shimmed inwards .18mm. I could probably benefit by shimming it in even further. Very surprised by how tough it was to get my chainring anywhere near the center of my cassette.

Not really a surprise, as the normal 50mm front chainline on a bike isn't anywhere close to being centered on the cassette. That modern 50mm chainline width is driven by the seat tube diameter and the external BB design, the older 47.5mm MTB chainline was much closer to being centered on an 8 speed cassette.

I would love a 47.5mm chainline on my slayer haha. Ultra annoying having to fit chainring spacers everytime I want to swap chainring or anything that involves removing chainring.

Running a 30T Narrow Wide on my 2012 Slayer70 with the Turbine cranks, no shimming at all and it works fine.

Just installed my 30t race face narrow wide so i now have literally the exact same drive train as you and it still needs shimming in my opinion. Lines up between the 3rd and 4th smallest cogs for me when not shimmed and with one spacer on drive side none on non-drive.

I really don't care if it's perfectly centered to be honest, it's not causing me any issues like it is now, so I'm not messing with it. Shifting is fine throughout my cassette, I have better shifting now than I've ever had on this bike really.

Was yours hesitating or something at one of the cassette or the other?

Nah I don't any shifting issues, I just spend a lot of time in the big cogs hauling my bike up ridiculous New England climbs and I can't stand the major cross-lining. I haven't tried out the 30t on a ride yet but I'm hoping it will enable me to rely primarily on 32t or 28t cassette cog for climbs.

I have the same problem on my Yeti ASR5. i'm running a 34T narrow wide and get horrible chain line on the 34/36 cogs of the cassette. I really don't want to move the BB spacer to the other side. Thought about chainring spacers but would have to run 3mm spacer to get proper chain line and i am assuming I would need longer chainring bolts? If you figure it out let me know. FYI I don't have shifting issues at all but it gets you can hear a difference for sure when in the largest two cassette cogs. XT M785 double crankset

By the way shredjekyll the 30T narrow wide is a little offset to the inside so it should help. Unfortunately a 30T is a little too small for my home trails but will probably pick one up for out of town trips.
