This is the RM forum i didnt expect praises If i posted this in the Specialized/Yeti/Intense/Giant/etc forum i would get a different response.

For the 3rd time, i am not suing anybody i am joining a class action.

We are up to 46 known cases, Rocky still should have nothing to worry about.

Uh, typical lawyer charges $300-500 per hour. For three hours of your lawyer's time you could have a brand spanking new frame. Go ride your bike rather than wasting your energy on this - life's too short.

The ETSX was not a great bike imo. The original was designed by a friend of mine, and I don't mean to trash his design, but I thought it was a bit too cutting edge and prone to drivetrain issues. However, the same could be said for my 2003-2005 vintage Santa Cruz's. I can't tell you how many issues I had with those - had to change the pivots twice a year.

The fact is, the 2010 onwards Rocky's are unbelievably good bikes, the Elements, Flatlines and Slayers in particular, which is why the fanbase is growing. I hated Rockys until recently.

One thing to remember is, despite being owned by Procycle, the Rocky team is very small. This is not a big corporation. Your ambulance chasing lawyer is not going after some big evil corporation, just a bunch of guys who love bikes as much as we do. This aint BP dude, it's a little bike company that barely turns a profit.

    Good God man...

This thread is so full of do*che that I thought I stumbled into the feminine product aisle...

Great job supporting predatory and exploitive lawyers, driving up the cost of production for Rocky (and consumers) and trying to get rich quick rather than working hard to earn your pay.

    Unphuckingbelievable...

Let me guess outrnm - american? Not that being an idiot is limited to nationality but the culture seems to encourage frivolous litigation.

Good luck with the class action. Have to be one hell of a desperate class action firm to front the disbursements on this; trolling internet message boards for pissed off ETS-X owners. Poor poor student who got this task.

I can see the interview with outrnm. The bill for suppositories and anal cleansing alone will be tremendous.

I pity Specialized. In fact I feel tremendous pity for anyone who has to share the air within square kilometres of your locale. Hopefully spraying isn't contagious.

I don't care if you end up with 4600 cases, you are still a tool.

Anyone with experience dealing with RM about a Cracked Frame?

Picked up my original bike back today with no progress after 7 months. I am taking the bike to a 3rd party metallurgy specialist this week to document that the crack is a defect related to manufacturing. At this point me and the attorney have compiled a total of 32 known ETSX cracked frame instances I am sure there are many more.

Rocky jerked me around and the best they came back with was buy a new Altitude frame from them for $995 I put up my oxygen on craigslist and will fight this hardball.
Are you or are you not responsible for creating this class action lawsuit? This post shows it was your doing that created it. Your most recent post denies it. You suck.

Just to be clear I am a huge fan of Rocky Mountain bikes, but that doesnt affect how I view your "claim". In the past I had a issue with a brand new Altitude 70 rsl which they went above and beyond what I had expected from them. But it looks like you moved on the to Specialized, I hope you have good luck with the new bike. Your new bike looks like a extra large frame which gives me a funny feeling that you were running your seatpost over extended on the ETSX.

Yo Bro you sound like an amateur, take it from someone who knows how to sue people and take them to task you ain't got nothing on me. Best of luck with your lawyer, hope he's not a putz like you. I also hope you don't ever get counter sued, that hurts pretty bad when that goes down.

Posting BS on a public forum is probably one of the dumbest things you can do. Everytime you type something, someone else is printing it out and putting it in a file somewhere.

Threatening your defendant, talking smack, and running your mouth is absolutely no way to file a lawsuit or a complaint against someone. I'd suggest you stfu and let your lawyer do the talking or just file your motions quietly in the court of law. If you've even sent your intent to sue letter or filed a lawsuit yet. Again take it from me, I'm top dog when it comes to sticking it to the man.

On the other hand I guy like you shouldn't even be riding a rocking mountain bike. These bikes are reserved for quality people who enjoy a quality bike. I've had warrenty issues with one of my many rocky mountains and boy did they take care of me in the warrenty dept. I guess it just depends on who you are, if your a jack hole well then it's gonna be harder to get taken care of. If your a nice guy who is reasonable, well then they'll roll out the red carpet.

Another problem with the ETSX was the head angle.

What was wrong about the head angle? It was the standard rocky geometry on all their xc/trail models for 20 plus years until they started doing 29ers and the altitude duallies.

The bike just didn't feel right in tight single track it's like it under steered. Rocky kept playing with it over the years.

    SHEESH

you are riding a full suspension bike
head angle is more than a function of how the tubes are welded together
it will vary according to how much sag you are running front or rear
toss in a fork with adjustable travel you have another variable
steering can vary with tread pattern on the front tire
heck, even tire pressure adds a variable

AND YOU DARE TO BLAME ROCKY FOR YOUR PERCEIVED UNDER STEER

you need to read some books on bike/car dynamics

    edit
even if you are riding a hard tail my comments of tires and pressures apply

outrnm, my ETSX-70 cracked 2 years ago too. I don't have enough posts to PM you though. Can you PM me? I'm not expecting a thing but I'm curious. I paid a welder to fix it but it broke in the same spot. Loved the bike. Wish it had lasted.

This is all so simple, no receipt, no warranty.

Let alone the bike was five years old.

Can't believe the time effort and money going into this.

    Go ride your bike.

    RockyJo1:

Did RM offer you a new ETSX-70 frame or another style frame? Just curious if they are still in stock or if they are still manufacturing the ETSX for replacements.
