    My Altitude 730

    [IMG][/IMG]
My Altitude fresh from a dusty ride. I've upgrade to X0 brakes, shifters and rear derailer. Also added was a Reverb stealth seat post and a fork lockout. Coming soon is wheelset (DT Swiss 350 with Stans Arches), X0 crank's, front derailer and XTR cassette.

Vertex 970 RSL changed cranks to XX, Truvativ Stylo T40 seatpost and swapped the tires and set them up tubeless.

    Element 999rsl build

Here's the result of my latest build. Coming off of a 12 year old Blizzard this has been quite a change. Loving the new ride!

My 2001 Blizzard... such an incredible bike in every respect.

    1991 Stratos... almost mint.

I ride with 65'er...he's a mountain goat....But then again, we need to throw him in the mud and pack his pockets with lead shot before a scale will read him. - Psycho Mike

I'll never get tired of riding the blizzard! It may not climb as well as my SC Highball carbon but it feels so goooood!

This happened, quite by accident, at Burke Mountain Bike Park in northern Vermont. Mine is in the middle.

I'm going there this coming w/e for first time. Trying to decide to pack sandwiches or if there will always be places to stop and buy something? Is there a chance that we will ride so far that we will be out of luck to buys something for or do the trails always loop back to a chalet/cafe/lunch stop?

There is a place to eat on the mountain and if you are just doing Kingdom Trails there is a market and a pub both next to the office. That said, some of the trails are a distance from the village so I would at least pack bananas or snack bars just in case.

^^^ Gnarly slayer heres mine Have a thomson dropper coming my way in the mail

    Post your RM shots-20130815_180010_lls%5B1%5D.jpg

Have you found that you need to run a decent amount more pressure in the rear than recommended? Fox and rocky recommend around 185 for my BW of 170 and I absolutely have to run at least 205 in order to keep the shock up in its travel. Not a complaint, just a comment, I LOVE this bike.

I've got a 2011 Slayer as well, and I run more PSI than recommended. Talked to my buddy at the shop and he said Rocky wanted it to be super plush, but it is a little too plush for my taste at the recommended settings. I love my bike too. I am considering going to DBair to gain more control/adjustability. Climbs like a goat for having 6" of travel!!! Nice Slayers, BTW

oh man i love that green frame!! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one running way more psi out back than recommended. Just got back from my best ride yet and I had 210 psi with bodyweight of 170.

I'm in the same boat as you, also considering a cane creek. Definitely not going to be for a few months though, I just splurged on a thomson dropper

PS: have you had any issues with your wheeltech hubs??? My rear wheel and hub have been flawless but my front didn't last a month before the hub started developing lateral play that absolutely would not go away. I ended up having to buy a new wheel which I didnt mind cause I was planning on it anyway. I've been meaning to contact jensonusa and rocky about it but ive been too busy.

No, no issues with the hubs so far. Had a creaking pivot bolt that was not lubed from the factory. Easy fix and been good to go ever since. I would reach out to Rocky about the hub for sure.

    Altitude 730

    Hi all,
New to RM but here is my Altitude. I tried to lighten it up a bit, but I'm just around 26.6 lbs.

I do really enjoy is so far, but only have had it out once since the build.Post your RM shots-altitude-3.jpg

Nice, Zerort. I decided I wanted a 730, but Rocky was all sold out.

I ordered mine through Jenson a couple of weeks ago. Are they out of stock too?

Oh, I don't think so. My friend owns a shop and just became a Rocky dealer, so I want to get my next bike at his shop. (Plus I do a little part-time wrenching there as well)
