My 2008 Vertex Team (scandium). This is my first RM bike...I really like how this one turned out so there maybe others in the future. This is all Rockyuphill's fault.

I only facilitated things, it's really Larry87's fault. All I said was that your long term relationship with titanium would be seriously compromised after you rode one of those scandium team Vertex hardtails.

So many options.... although many of them were extremely muddy after a huge thunderstorm the previous evening.

Does anyone still ride steel ?

Got the frame rather cheap and built it up with some spare parts... Race Face crank, XT derailers and brakes, Avid levers, Mars Elite fork Raceface bars, no name stem, Race Face bars, Pro Logic headset, Oury lock on grips, XT triggers...

The rather excellent rear wheel came off my old Hammer and I upgraded the 7 speed freehub to an 8 and I built up the front wheel with an Suntour XC Pro hub laced to an NOS Rhynolite.

The Blizzard is the sweetest hardtail I have ever ridden... it handles like it is on rails and climbs like a goat on speed.

A back injury has kept me off the trail for over a year but I got the bike a little dirty tonight...
I ride with 65'er...he's a mountain goat....But then again, we need to throw him in the mud and pack his pockets with lead shot before a scale will read him. - Psycho Mike

I've just rebuilt my Hammer. I'd bought a carbon vertex to replace it, used some of the parts off it on the Vertex, upgraded them whilst on the vertexand then enough parts to rebuild this - all I had to buy was some new forks!

variously sized Reflexite triangles (i'm a strong believer that being visible/eye catching on the road helps prevent accidents) the wonderfully patient mrs culturesponge took about 10 hours to apply the Reflexite to her bike

    ...............edit...........

since the snaps she's re-done the area around the RM badge where she'd first started - looks killer now

It's a Rocky, and it has knobbie tires.

When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.

here is my 09 RM element 50, just finished my first 100km enduro on the old girl down in Mogo, Australia Only saw once other RM he whole day. t went pretty well, no punctures or mechanicals over 2800m of climbing. it climbed great and ws great on the single track. i was thinking of getting the altitudfe but i think i made the right decision with the element, maybe the altitude is a bit too much bike for me? it was more comfortable than i thought i would be. a bit of bob with pedalling but i think my butt was happy for the relief. overall much better than my old jekyll.

Arty blurred motion shots from a hand held camera while riding my Altitude through the woods on Sunday. You really need two hands to ride log piles. This is what the ride would have looked like to a kidnap victim being carried away through the woods on the bike handebars.

Not sure whether to ride the Element or the Uni

Decided it would be a bad idea to not take the Element

Ok - a few from a special Brecon Beacons trip:

(Its hard to tell on that first pic, but those rocks are unbelievably loose at that point)

*unfortunately couldnt use my RM that day, but still worth posting them up, I think.
