    More Element MSL Help

    Hi

I'm looking to change the rear shock on my element 50 MSL to a new Fox CTD. I currently have the RP2 (basically on or off).
I was hoping to drop the travel down to 110mm without the need for internal shimming.
Does any of you technical guys know if this is possible using a shorter stroke and/or eye to eye.
I'm assuming it will alter the geometry a bit as well but can't figure this out for sure.

Any help would be great. Thanks
    Medz

I maybe wrong but I think if you use a shorter shock it will sit lower (bottom bracket height).

Thanks Binrat. I thought that may be the case. I don't mind that because I'm running 650b wheels.
Do you know how it affects STA & HTA?

If you shorten the shock I2I length you will quite likely have the tire hit the seat tube, especially with a 650B tire.

I have the Al version and it works perfectly. Better than with the 26" wheels. Be careful with the carbon rear, the chainstays have tighter clearance than the Al ones.
You'll likely have to shim the shock. Mines set at 110mm travel which still works fantastic.
