    Dropper post recommendations?

    Hey all!

I know this is going to be a bit of a n00b question but...

My GF has a 2010 or 2011 Altitude and all she's ever talked about wanting to upgrade is a dropper post. I've got a chance to pickup a reverb at a discount.

That being said: Is that a good post? Any other recommendations?

Also she's a lefty, and while it seems like a preference thing I've noticed most posts have the controls left mounted, so I am making a leap here and assuming that most lefties would probably want it right mounted?

I'd really like to surprise her with this, but if it's something she really needs to choose I don't want to screw it up by ordering the wrong one

    Thanks!

I got a reverb, mounted on the left bar, love it. You can get it for the right bar as well.

    RE: Dropper post recommendations?

Early model reverbs seemed to have reliability issues. 2013's seem to be doing better and probably have the best reliability records so far. You also need to make sure you get the right length post for her seat tube and saddle height and seat tube diameter if you didn't already know that.

Another Reverb vote, though I mount mine on the right.

I'm a lefty and mount my control on the left (Kronolog). It has nothing to do with being a lefty, it's because the rear derailleur is on the right. This way you can control the seatpost while shifting through the gears.

I run a 2012 reverb, no problems with it whatsoever, Im of the opinion once you've ridden with a dropper you wont want to go back. Been on at my OH to get one for ages and he finally did and now turns round and spouts the 'revolutionises your riding' opinion. Im right handed and run it on the left because I managed to get it close on that side than the other! I wan it a lot closer still but the reverb is quite large on the controls. Have looked at the KS Lev alternative as wondered if can get it closer.
