You can set it up so it won't rub the swing arm. However, I tried to put one on my SXC70, running a 2x9 drive train and it screwed up my chain alignment. The front derailuer didn't want to work properly so I took it off. I still run the 2x9 with bash guard drive train and an x.9 medium cage derailuer. Keeping the chain as short at possible, its pretty tight and I have yet to drop a chain.

yeah i seem to drop alot of chains on the downhills, i am running a 3x9 with a long cage der. but rarely use the big ring, was going to put a tensioner to reduce the chain drop maybe ill take out a link off the chain and see how it works. i measured it big ring in the front and big cog in back + 2 links but that put me at two male ends so i went +3 links.
