    2013 Altitude Sizing?

About to pull the trigger on a 2013 RM Altitude 790 but am super torn on the large vs XL. I'm a little over 6'1 and the bike will be more of a trail rocket than a gravity machine (I have a slash 8 for jumping etc). Looking at wheelbase #'s it seems these bikes are VERY long. Longer than my old large 29er Giant Anthem? I would run a 35mm stem and 720 bars but will the XL feel too big? Any input from people riding these sizes... Thanks!

    2013 Altitude Sizing?

I'm 6ft and I demoed the altitude this w.e, size large.

At first glance, I felt the bike a little too small for me, but when I got used to, it was really pleasant to ride. Comfy while climbing, and really efficient while downhilling. The most surprising fact with this frame was its ability to corner and to really hard on berms. Really fun. On more rocky sections, it works really well, but I'm used to heavier bikes, so I should get used to ride a sub 30lbs bike. Even if the rear suspension was terrific, the bike was still moving everywhere. (I precise that I was riding flat plats, and gloveless, when I usually the opposite, and my brake pads weren't broke in, so a bit biaised)

Anyway, for your size, I don't know. I just know I've got big legs, I'm 6ft, and this large frame was really nice, with the 70mm stem and 720 handlebar. Even if I would put a 50 stem, and a larger handlebar...

Ps : excuse all potential mistakes with my English, it's not my native language.

    Cheers
Denverite to be, but so french !

    I ride an around-30lbs 6" 26" bike since 2003, please...

I'm also 6' and ride a large anthem. The large Altitude fit comfortably vs. the anthem x1 which I've been riding the last 18M - the transition btw the two was near seamless. If you've done anything to your giant (stem, weird seat position, etc) you might want to think about the XL but if you have pretty standard proportions and the OEM giant stuff fits fine the L Altitude will likely be fine for you.

Just rode the RM Altitude 770MSL this morning in a size large. I'm 5'10" and while the large felt pretty good, by the end of the ride it had started feeling a little long. So, if I were to buy one I would go with the Medium for myself. Nice riding bike.
