2012 Trailhead 29er vs. Solo CX

I plan on riding about 90% road/bike path and 10% trail.

    6ft tall and 195lbs

I was initially leaning more to cyclocross for speed and distance, but enjoyed the upright feel and smooth ride of the 29er ride on the street/sidewalks...now i am torn between the two.

    57cm on sale for $800:
Bikes | Road | Cyclocross | SOLO CX

18.5 inch on sale for $850
    Bikes | Mountain | XC Hardtail | TRAILHEAD 29''

I think you've just answered your own question, you just need to believe what you just said. If you don't have a plan to race CX or ride more trails then just buy what feels comfy while riding what you plan to ride the most.

    Yup, I guess I didn't really ask a question...oops!

I guess what I meant was that I didn't see any reviews on the RM Trailhead 29er and was hoping for some feedback as the price seemed good as the MSRP is close to $1,200.

The Trailhead 29 is not a bad spec for the sale price point. It's typical industry standard level of spec for the $1200 price range, so it's a decent bargain at that sale price, a decent fork which is important, and hydraulic discs. It's got fairly short chain stays for a 29" so it will be responsive and climb really well.
