2012 element 930 travel change question

So during the maintenance of my stock recon fork i took out the 20mm spacer to change the front end from 100mm to 120mm. I did notice something odd though I now see 130mm when I measure the upper gold stanchions. Is this a cause for concern? Am I stressing the bike frame too much or am I measureing the wrong thing thing or too OCD? The recon manual does say removing the spacer should make it 120mm so I'm confused. Any help would be appreciated.

There should be about 10mm of free stanchion length to help prevent hitting the tire with the crown at full travel, if you would have measured the fork before removing the spacer it should have shown 110mm of stanchion.
