    2011 Altitude 10

I haven't seen many people comment on this level of the altitude. I'm looking at and rode one and it's pretty sweet. It's the only Altitude the shop has. Do most people just spend more to get a better build? Is the matte blue and white paint a bottom end paint scheme as well? Most of the 50's and 70's seem to have nicer paint.

    Just curious... thanks!

The actual paint will be the same quality, it will be a matter of colour choices. The components are the biggest difference, buy as upscale a version as you can afford to start with as it would cost about 20-25% more to upgrade to better components at typical retail prices. The OEM builds are very competitively priced.

Very interested in this bike as well. 2011 Altitude 10 for $1300 seems like a steal right now. Did you ever get one Harvo? I'm having a hard time picking between this & the Camber Comp

Same case for me, I'm looking into several bikes:

    2008 Trek Fuel EX 8
    2008 Cannondale Prophet 3
    2011 Rocky Mountain Altitute 10

I can't make up my mind yet... Have any of you ridden these bikes? At this moment I own a trek 8500 (hardtail) but I'm looking for something that can tackle downhills too and at the same time be able to perform uphill. I know FS bikes are heavier, which one of these bikes would be the best all around?

    Any comments would be appreciated!
