    2006 Rocky Mountain Element 50

I'm looking at a 2006 RM Element 50 on craigslist. Bike has been ridden lightly looks to be in near new condition. He's asking $650 for it, but I'm still negotiating. Does anyone have any experience with this bike? Is it a reliable ride, good suspension, solid frame? This would be my first full squish bike. I ride some super rocky and rooty trails, and the Hardtail isn't cutting it anymore...

That's a decent price for an Element 50. They ride like a hardtail with some squish, so it is a very efficient race bike, not super plush, but a very efficient pedaling bike, so it makes a good transition between a hardtail and a first time suspension bike. There were rare problems with cracks in the front yoke of the swingarm or near the welds between the yoke and the chainstay tubing, so as long as you don't see any cracks in that area of the swingarm, then it should have as long a life as any other suspension bike.

That's a good price for that bike. I wish I had my old element race, it was a good ride.

I decided to buy the bike! It's a sweet ride, and I can't wait to rip up some trails with it!
