2000/2001 RM6, how is the front derailleur mounted?

    Hey guys,

I'm asking this question for a friend.

He just came across an RM6 frame which he purchased for super cheap...he's having some trouble finding out how to mount the front derailleur. Specs say it's a 31.6mm clamp on, but all the tubing around the bottom bracket area is squarish (see attached photo).

If someone could possibly tell me or point me in the direction on how to mount the front derailleur (pictures would be GREAT), then i can pass it off to my friend.

Thanks in advance (and on behalf of my friend)!

Picture of the bottom bracket area showing the tubing:

There would have been removable round segment pieces to attach to the front derailleur mounting post area, similar to this later 2006 RM6.

Having the same problem with my 2004 richie schley switch which also doesn't have a round area to fit a front derailleur.
Alternative is a bottom bracket mount derailleur, and as a chain guide would also have to be BB mount due to lack of mounts I'm considering this Blackspire 'stinger e' to do the job. (you need to purchase the E-type derailleur seperately)
