Ritchey Tom Slick blowout sidwall failures

Look at the reviews. Ritchey must have a bad batch floating around. I want to hear from anyone that has knowledge of these type of blowouts. On 7/11/2007 I had the worst crash of my life. Two day old Tom Slick. Tire blowout with 3 inch sidewall failure. 20-MPH. Ambulance to Emergency Room with broken collarbone and multiple body injuries. I have done sports all my life including 6 Ironman Races but this tops all my injuries. Help me save other athletes from these tires until the bad ones have been recalled.

I've been running a set of 26" x 1.4 tom slicks for about a year. When was this "batch" released? (mine have been fine over about 1000 miles)

It appears that the tires hit distributers in May or June. My tire got to the Bike Store June 13, 2007 and was installed on my bike July-9, 2007. You may be fine. Ritchey apparently changed vendor to Korea from Tawain. Look for rust "bleed-thru" color in the rubber around the bead.
