    I own that P-23.

That bike from the article still exists! I know, because it's in my garage. Undoubtedly the best hardtail mountain bike of its era. This bike was one of the first six Tom made. They were made for his team, and this one got diverted to me. I was doing some work for Tom at the time.

Believe it or not, I've got a matching Ritchey Road Bike as well. Awesome bike.

    Two P-23's

I have two P-23's in my basement I'd love to restore to original parts spec some day. One has a dented top tube though. I rode and raced it for 6 years!

I'm still using the Ritchey/Sachs 2x9 front grip shifter on my Interloc. Good stuff!
