    Here's the original ad:

    http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/bik/1284086581.html

It certainly didn't look like a Ritchey to me, but the seller seems quite positive. (obviously not Timber Wolf)

Sure looks like it. It looks like the ones here Official (Tom) Ritchey Picture Thread. Beware, if you post it on that forum though, those guys can be ruthless vintage snobs.

    LOL!

I like this post on bikeforums.net by our CS1 on bikeforums.net:

Those guy ARE vintage snobs. Have you seen the war over who's gonna be a moderator? They're chasing out every mod the forum puts in. It used to be an OK place to go. Now it's becoming a country club for rich spoiled boys.

Not snobs, just not a bunch of idiots telling each other their Alivio kit is sweet. And there's no war here as to who's gonna be the moderator. We like Mendon. And thanks Tim for the compliments.

    Here's another post from there:

They definitely know their stuff, but you have to wade through serious crap to get a simple frame id sometimes.

The second post here gives him the answer. Over on bikeforums it seems the consensus is that it is a Ritchey. So you can go there and get friendly guys and wrong info or come here and get guys that will tell you like it is.

That's a true and fair summation of things. The last paragraph should be your signature. Good post

    Fuji, Ritchey, what's the difference?

Lest I be referred to as a snob (again), note what might have been my first post to this forum, which involved a low-level Fuji (another Exage item!?):

    Fuji Cadenza?

No snobbery here...I am just sayin that I have a similar frame with a similar seattube lug.

...but you know...mine does have a glow in the dark splatter paint on cream base colorway...and your is kinda crusty...

    Just sayin.

think mech and I are going to have to chat when we see vintage stuff pop up on TO craigs, make sure the other isn't sniping it...

I saw that one too, kept thinking... "you know, that seat tube lug just does NOT look right"
Did they tell you whether (they think) it IS a ritchey for sure?

Think you'd posted about another "ritchey" (a 14") that was declared a ritchey because of the dropouts... think this is the same logic, ritchey dropouts ergo it must be a ritchey!
Might be the same guy who's honed in on something.

    my point exactly...
this is the second one where the owner's just saying "ritchey dropouts so it's a ritchey!" (just that I'm aware of, probably a lot more out there!)
so I was just poking fun of it.

so CAN anyone ID it from the combo of ritchey d-outs, seatbolt-seatstay attachment point, and that type of seat lug?
Figure a combo of those three should do it, anyone, anyone? bueller??

lots copied that Ritchey seat cluster and the ovalized seat tube. btw, this one doesn't have the Ritchey dropouts.

someone said it looked like a Fuji. it's definitely something made overseas.

Reminds me a bit of some Fishers I've seen (e.g., Montare).

The seat-tube lug doesn't fit though.

Could it be a US builder who has done a custom job based on a ritchey or are there signtales of asian fabrication?

pretty certain it was made overseas, but can't say with 100% surety. It is a decent looking frame, upper end of the overseas stuff I'd say. Also looks like it's had some sort of repair where it's painted black near the bb shell.
