    DS28 freehub

I wonder if anyone (Dave?) can help. I've had the DS28 AM wheelset for 2 years. The freehub has slipped occasionally over the last month or so but this evening it failed to engage at all when putting maximum power through the pedals. I spent an hour stripping the hub, removing and cleaning every pawl and spring but it still slips under power. The pawls do look a little worn. Is this to be expected? Will new pawls solve this or is it likley the freehub body has worn too? Do I need a new hub?? (I hope not!)

    Thanks for any help offered.

Garry, sorry to take so long to respond. How old is your hub? If it's within a year or two we might be able warranty it. Otherwise try bringing it into a good bike shop, if they can narrow down what part is busted or worn out, we can most likely replace just that part.

Thanks Dave. I ordered a replacement freehub with pawls etc. from my local shop. It was 2 years old. I will strip and re-grease the new one every 6 months or so and hopefully it will last longer.
