    FATS near Augusta, GA

Crawling out from the lurking shadows ... rode the FATS system of trails near Augusta, GA.

Well, I made it back out to FATS again this evening. We had 4 waves of really nasty thunders storms roll across Ft. Gordon yesterday afternoon and evening, so I didn’t expect to get any riding in. But, when I checked CSRA’s site at lunch today, the trails were open. Either the storms were super isolated, or the trails drain super quick. When I hit the trails, I would never have guessed there was rain in the area.

On to the few pics that I took…

I hit Skinny today. It’s a total blast. Still rolling like Brown Wave, but there are a few longer and smooth runs. It felt like there was a little more elevation changes, but nothing leg breaking.

Almost ran over this funny looking stick.

Took a moment to move him off the trail.

One last shot of the trail.

It looks like I will be hanging around Gordon a little longer, so I will be able to keep working my way around the FATS system.

    Until next time,
The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas.

Used to ride FATS once in a while when I was in school at MCG. I was dead broke so I rode it on a 43 lb (!!!!) Walgoose. Good times.

Nice snake! It's almost shocking to see how quickly FATS dries out this time of year, isn't it? I was on Skinny and Brown Wave Monday and it seemed the previous evening's downpour merely knocked down the dust.

    Thanks for posting the pics!

I am visiting my parents who live in Augusta over the next week. I can't wait to ride these trails. I want to see how they compare to the MD trails.

    Thanks for the pics.

We go every other weekend or so. Brown Wave is truly one of the greats; fast, flowy and you catch a metric ton of air.
