    Bike Sumo Wrestling!

    Hey, anybody seen this?

LLAMA MAMA Mountain Bike Tours and MINUTEMAN PIZZA proudly presents...

This is a “mano-a-mano”, one-on-one tournament designed to test your abilities and courage on a bicycle.
Only one skilled rider can emerge victorious!

    Here’s how it works…
First we outline a rope circle on the ground, 6 meters in diameter. The arena is now set. All registered riders will put their names in a hat (extra style-points for outrageous battle names!). Rider names will then be drawn in pairs and arranged in double-elimination, tournament format. The two selected riders will enter from opposite sides of the ring….let the dual begin! Force your opponent to leave the circle, touch the ground with any part of his/her body or remove hands or feet from the bike and you win the round. Best two of three rounds will advance you to the next match. Who will rule the bicycle coliseum?

    We provide the gear…
Each brave rider will get use of a Kona Mountain Bike for as long as they can stay in the tourney. Double-elimination format ensures that everyone gets at least two matches. Bruises are optional.

    Whats it cost?
All this fun and healthy competition goes for a mere 15 Bolivianos! Register the night at Hotel Tońito (best beds in town, no lie) and you compete for FREE!

But wait…. there are PRIZES too!!The winner gets BIKE SUMO bragging rights for all of Southern Bolivia, a cool LLAMA MAMA BIKE TOURS T-shirt and a large MINUTEMAN PIZZA (the pizza alone is sure to bring out the warrior in you). Consolation prize to be awarded the winner of the “out” bracket and second place.

I just read about it in 26 magazine, and maybe could be convinced this would be a wise use of time and blood at Sea Otter, if you get a couple of beers in me. I think it would be best done on kid's 16" wheeled bikes.

    Anybody try this?

I bet we could get a few people together from around the campgrounds, sounds like good Friday or Saturyday night fun.
