    Shoulder dislocations...

For some reason I started thinking about shoulder dislocations the other day. I was thinking that if it happened to me riding and what I'd do. Would I try to pop it back in myself or let my arm dangle while hiking my bike out. Both options probably very painful. For those of you that has experienced this, what did you do?

I've done it for each shoulder. 1st one I flew off a teeter totter and landed on a pile of rocks. 2nd one I plowed into a rider stopped on a down hill. Both times the shoulder popped back in almost immediately by itself and i didn't realize i had dislocated them. Rode out both times. It wasn't till later when the shoulders kept popping out. It wasn't till later that i found out they were dislocated.

My right shoulder has had an anterior dislocation as the x-ray above shows. It will not go back in without major help which for me is a trip to the ER and Demerol and much educated tugging by the Doc. The first time it happened I did a flying W during a motocross race, ouch.
