    Seperated Achilles Tendon

My left foot has been hurting for about 2 years and i just got to the doctor last week. I got an x-ray and she noticed that the tendon was inflamed. So...... I will have to have surgery to fix this problem. 6-8 weeks no pressure on my foot at all and then 3-5 with a boot.
    This sucks,
    Just wanted to tell.
    thanks
    Chris

i didnt know that you could see inflammation of a tendon on an xray or that inflammation requires surgery or that surgery helps inflammation. id get another opinion

Yea the area that is inflamed is a white but not like the bone. I have a spur on the top of my heel and the running and football causes the tendon to pull the heel up and rub.... that is where the pain is! They will have to go in and cut the tendon to reduce the pressure. Its nothing major just a small surgery but if i can stand the pain then I will not need the surgery. Sorry for the confusion its actually tendenitous(sp).
