    Recovering from the flu

    Hi all,
I am trying to recover from a bad bout of cold / flu. I have only been out for a week but have a race in two weeks and really need to get back on track. I still feel pretty weak and was wonderful if anyone had any recommendations of training / fluid / food replacements / anything that will get me back to post flu fitness??
Bikes are good and so is food!!

Dont over do it. It probably depends on how young and how healthy you are but I figure with the flu you are sick about 9 days. Kind of tough when you have to work so you end up going back to work early. Total recovery time about three weeks. I would work up slowly to where you were. The real danger is that while you are weak you are at risk for pneumonia or maybe an ear infection. Post flu complications cause a lot of problems. BTW pneumonia which is also known as the "silent killer" can strike people of any age.
