Hoping to get some info from a PT or the likes that understands causes of knee popping. This is an issue that developed for me in over the past few years, I'm 36.
When I get on a bike cold, both of my knees pop audibly for a minute or so and then reduce to a clicking that can be felt but not heard for the next 10-15min. Once I'm warmed up it goes away. Is this normal? I have knee pain in my right knee that comes and goes for months at a time. I am concerned that the popping is leading to more pain down the road and possibly in both knees.
I am a avid rider/racer (10-20 hrs/week) have done some longer endurance type stuff up to 100mi off road. Off the bike I hike and ski (10 days/yr) but no running.
Is there a stretching routine or exercise regime I could be doing to avoid this condition?
