Injury ended my day at Whistler early

It's been a while since I've ridden Whistler and I should have known getting back into it would be tough. I thought I was doing fine then this happened. Man did it hurt! Call me a wimp, but my day ended early.

Maybe a wider angle shot would help

I wanted to keep riding, but it was getting too dangerous landing all those jumps with one hand.

Proves what I've always known - North Shore riding gives you soft, girly hands. D.
You be you. I'll be riding.

Jeez Alan, I saw that subject line and was initially concerned. Glad there is probably a 88.8% chance of survival.

New bike should be not too much longer. Will probably miss Whistler, but that is OK. It will be killer over on the shore as well.

Maybe if you didn't 'death grip' the handlebars so hard ...

    Kn.
I used to be with it. Then, they changed what "it" is, and now what I'm with is no longer "it". And whatever "it" is, is strange and confusing.

    Career ending?

Bite into that sh!t for drainage and keep riding. That would delay me for approximately four seconds.

    Ride now, heal later.

It musta been the altitude causing me to grip so hard. I'm not used to being 30 feet in the air. :P

    Your problem is

the blistering pace you kept up, Alan. Try a non-blistering pace, otherwise Mother Nature will 'hand' you more pain and suffering.

    heal up eh? Jim

Groan. Good punning. Hurts more than the blood blister.

I was going to respond to Craig that I did it by riding hard, but you put it so much better.

I'll survive, but I'll never play the violin again. Actually I've never wanted to play the violin.

Once the bikes arrive we can have a few warm-up runs on Fromme then we should head to Cypress where you'll really appreciate the better handling. I'm thinking Wild Cherry/Roaches.

I wouldnt let a little blister like that stop me! Hell, when I was a kid we didnt even have bikes. We just ran around with handlebars and pretended we had a bike! In the winter! Without gloves or shoes! Yea, thats it.....!

You were lucky! We didn't have handlebars, we used to try to find sticks to pretend we had handlebars, but we could never find them because the locusts has eaten them all. Gloves, shoes...ha!....we didt even know what they were until we grew up..all we had for winter clothing was old newspaper...

Hey Alan B, be a hand wimp like me & wear gloves...

Is this where I'm supposed to tell you I got the blister riding uphill from the top of the chair to the start of the lift-line? And that was just the Fitzsimmons. The line-up for the Garbanzo went past the top of the gondola, across the glacier to the Peak chair and back down to the village.

I had to start before sunrise just to get off the mountain before dusk.
