    Injured tailbone.

Yesterday I fell off my bike in an embarrassing fashion.

I was at the top of a ~8 ft. drop almost at a standstill. Not sure what happened but I started to fall off to the right and couldn't save it. Somehow I managed to land right on my tailbone but then turned a bit while I slid down the hill scraping up my right knee.

It's not broke but it's really sore. Anyone know roughly how long this might last?

Is it doing more damage if I continue to ride?

You probably bruised your tailbone pretty bad. Unfortunately a bruised tailbone can stick around for a while. I would assume because you're constantly moving muscle tissue in that area walking, sitting, etc...

That being said, I was being a real jack on the trail. Popped a wheelie too hard and went straight down on my tail bone. That was probably about a month ago, and I don't feel pain any more, but it probably lasted a solid 2ish weeks.

I'm sure it would exacerbate the issue to keep riding, but let's be real. It's probably just a bruise. I rode through on mine. If it's really bad pain, maybe get it checked out.

2-4 weeks for a bruise. 6-8 weeks for a fracture of the coccyx or if you damaged your SI joints as well
