tweaked my wrist 3 1/2 weeks ago. Initial xrays were negative, it continued to hurt. I thought it was a ligament, but got a ct scan anyhow. I found out 3 weeks later that I have an avulsion fx. (ligament that connects thumb joint radial head, it tore a chip of the bone off) BUT the one fx you DON'T want to leave be is a scaphoid or navicular bone fx. There is only ltd blood supply to that bone and if it needs to be pinned, it needs to be pinned asap. If not, you will later find out you have a necrotic wrist bone that dead bone WILL have to be removed and that's not good news. If there's pain in the 'snuff box' or the wrist on the radial side (thumb aspect) of your wrist, make sure the technologist does a scaphoid view. That's my 2 cents
Wrist injuries have forced people to retire in time.
Determine first what the diagnose is and upon that allow yourself to fully recover.
These kind of problems tend to persist if not properly cured.
Good luck.
