    Hurt Shoulders, size of bike

When riding longer times on rock garden my shoulders hurt from all the pounding. I have a 19 Trek Stache hard tail. I am not sure if there is a general rule, but would a longer top tube increase or decrease the pressure through my arms and into my shoulders? Just thinking if I should up the size of the top tube a bit on my next bike?

    Thanks Bob

Some things you could try with your existing bike include carbon bars to cut bump transmission, higher volume front tire at a lower psi, and 30mm inside dim wheelset to add 24% volume to both tires for more cushion. This would also allow 4-5 less psi for added cushion.
Wide Lightnings or Chinese Carbon 35/30mm from LB or Carbonbicycle.cc.
Ride with your controls and hands in a couple inches to create the effect of a longer top tube to see if you get any benefit.
