    fitness and the ER

My right leg started hurting on a ride and the next day I could hardly walk. Big deal I thought, wait a couple days and it will get better. Two weeks go by and I still can't ride very hard and my leg starts hurting. Go to the ER and they tell me go home and take Ibuprofen. I did not have a regular doctor to go to so I find one that will see me and he takes a blood test that indicated I should have an ultrasound on my leg. Right leg femoral artery is totally blocked,no wonder it hurt but being fit it looked fine normal peoples would have been black and blue and red. Heli flight and five days in ICU and two stents in my leg and five in my heart I'm back on the bike!I had a silent heart attack sometime before the leg blocked,it is unrelated to the leg issue but a good thing they found that and fixed it too.Lesson here is have a regular doctor to go to!

Lesson is listen to your body, not the doctors.

Glad you are alright, same thing almost killed my father.
