    Emergency Appendectomy recovery time?

I had emergency Laparoscopic Appendectomy surgery about a week and a half ago.
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or insights about how long it takes to be able to get back on the trails?.

Did they have to slice you open or was it done with laparoscopy? Guessing it makes a big difference in recovery time.

Probably goes without saying, but your doctor would be the best person to seek this advice from...

That said, my wife was doing full blown pilates four week after hers (done with a scope). Pretty sure the doc said no vigorous activity for three weeks.

    Good luck with the recovery!

i know this is an extremely old post but i have a personal experience to add for relevancy.

i had a laparoscopic appendectomy surgery late last year and i went mountain biking 5 days later. i went back to work after one day of rest. i feel i was fully recovered in about 7 days. i was 38 at the time and in good health.

every person will recover differently. it doesnt mean youre less healthy or that you did something wrong. most people recover well enough to function normally again in about a week. full recovery can take longer.
