    Broken clavicle!

I broke my collar bone about two weeks ago. Did it on the fourth day of a two week vacation in the Chicago area - Palos Hills.

Out for four to six weeks. That seriously cuts down my riding season here in Deustchland. Bummed. I might have to take up shuffleboard.

I got some of them (bolts in bones) but in my lower leg/ankle area. Another bike accident back in '07. Being out for more than 3 months would be the suckage. Be strong!

Oh better yet I broke it July 23rd and put a quick end to any riding of the higher elevation trails around here and most of the good summer riding. Doc said I may be able to get on a stationary bike mid Sept. and a road bike end of October. He gave me the look when I asked him when I could get back on the mountain bike.

MAG - keep your spirits up and heal quick!

I've been back on the bike for about a week now. Liberation on two wheels!

    Thanks!
Saw the Doc this week and am now allowed to walk on it AND ride a stationary bike. I never thought I'd be happy to ride a bike indoors. Yet it's better than not riding.

Oh ya MAG those femur breaks are bad. I have a friend that broke femur and crushed pelvis and it was 8+ hours to get him out to ambulance. He was laid up almost 8 months.
