Here in the States, many years ago avid runner and writer Jim Fixx died of a heart attack just after a run. It turned out that while he was fit, his family was predisposed to heart trouble, and his coronary arteries were almost completely blocked. He had probably given himself some extra time with all the running, but he couldn't outrun his genes.

If I remember correctly, wasn't he the longest lived male in his family in generations?

    Keep Riding

When life seems to be getting the best of me, stories like this snap me back and make me realize that I'm still in the game. I tend to re-evaluate my priorities and schedule some time for family, friends, and riding.

My sympathy to the man's family and friends.
