    Picked this up yesterday. Felt good on the short ride I was able to take it on today. The graphics on the paint look much better live than in this photo. Dropped the chain once at the beginning of the ride , but later found that the jump stop had moved out of position.

    Just ordered mine...
    I just ordered one of these. I'm planning on using it as a mucky weather bike...one i don't care about if it gets totally filthy.

    Any other ride impressions to share? Likes? Dislikes? How are the wheels?

    I'm upgrading the brakes to Avid bb5s, and changing the cockpit to race face stuff I have lying around in teh basement. Other than that, I'm gonna leave it stock until something breaks.

    Thanks!

    Unfortunately for me the trails have been pretty wet since I bought it , so I really don't know exactly how everything is going to feel. The only off-road riding was the couple miles I did the first day out.However, I have put about 30 road miles on it and like what I feel so far. The bars are a bit wide at a little over 27" , so I might cut them down a little. I'm the wrong guy to tell you about the quality of the wheels and stuff because the bike I was riding before was about ten years old , so it all feels good to me.I like the rigid fork because that's what I'm used to and I think you'll find the standard V brakes it comes with work very well. The 8 speed is perfect but, you might want to get some softer grips.

    XT Short cage rear, Sram PG-950. I forgot who made the chaintug/hanger but I got it though Greasy Comb. Had to do a little dremel work to the tug to get it to fit in the dropouts. I also need to take some off that bolt.

    Monocog 29er - stock, for now. Immediate plans call for clipless pedals and losing the reflectors, but little else for awhile. Maybe discs in a year or two. I absolutely love the simplicity of this bike.

    You all know what these look like stock, so here's a pic of it's maiden "bike path" voyage with my little future mtb'er. :thumbsup: Will be hitting the trail with it soon, hopefully with the friend that bought my old Hardrock Comp Disc.

    Dirt = Love
    my pride and joy. out of all my bikes, this one gets the most use by far. the dirt color paint job was the best thing redline ever did for this bike. it looks great no matter how nasty it gets... :thumbsup:

    you guys with the stock rigid forks on these bikes are tough. i rode it rigid for two months, and my arms are still sore.

    Picked up my '08 Monocog 29er today (bday gift from my wife). Can't wait to take it out on the trail this weekend. Hope to have time to stop and take a couple photos on her maiden voyage.
