    New question here. Redline prices

    Hello,
Does anybody know if the prices for the 2010 29rs have gone up? I want to get a Mono Flight and I am wondering if I should try to get a leftover 09 or wait for the 2010? I like the black better than the 09 color.

    Any info?

i can't speak for the flight, but i ordered a 2010 monocog 29er a couple weeks ago and msrp was $450. i believe the '09's msrp was $550. lbs said it should be ready by today, time to give 'em a call!

Wow, so the price went down by $100? I wonder if that is across the board.

yeah, i was pretty stoked! first quote i got was $480, but when i went to purchase, the shop owner was at redline's HQ and he told the guy ringing me up $450. less that $500 out-the-door. unfortunately, i called this am and the bike has not been delivered yet

noticed a couple of spec changes from redline's website. my bike came with nevegals and truvativ five d ss cranks w/ bashguard (versus exiwolfs and redline cranks). also gotta give props to my lbs. they got the bike ready for me much quicker than i expected and even threw in a tube, on the house! cycle therapy in kent, WA, you guys kick ass

Is $570+tax too much for an 09 monocog 29?

i'd say yes, especially considering the 2010's retail anywhere from $410-$450.

The price went back down to under 5 C-notes for 2010??? Come on tax fairy, leave yer dropping in my bank account!!!

This is KOOL!!! I had been wanting to buy one this year, but our income was slashed by more than half (under the state's "poverty level" now,LOL),so it didn't materialize. Next year could get us back to our normal (long story, but I'm perminantly "retired" due to injuries...and yeah, that means I can't ride as much too),but knew tax time I'd be looking for a replacement for the old Escort wagon...settle on my Grandma's 1 owner 99 Subaru Outback Sport (one owner,75,000 miles, fully loaded, garage kept and always serviced at Subaru),and was planning on selling the old Escort for $500 or so to help someone else out (other than a recently pooped brake line,a really dependable/economical lil car),and was gunna put that lil bit into some used 18" wheels, exhaust or whatnot...if that's true on the price drop, guess where I wanna spend it now!

I've been shopping Redline SS 29ers and one LBS has each of the following. I might look around still (especially if the 2010s are lower than the 09s).

-08 Flight 29er frame (blue) $185 for the frame only
    -09 Flight 29er complete $999 - 15% off = $850
    -09 Monocog 29er $549 - 15% = $467

Is the Flight that much better than the regular Monocog? I only got a parking lot ride and the Flight wasn't setup right (flipped stem and seatpost was a little low). I ran out of time to ride though.

How's the weight on each frame if anyone knows? I really want to get back into a HT 29er. I kind of want to build up that 08 Flight, but know that I'd end up spending so much more than I'd want to.

I really liked the new Specialized Stumpjumper Comp HT 29er, but $1850 is too rich for my blood right now.

Yeah, the Flite will give you a better ride, especially over rougher terrain. It has that Sanko steel,(Japan's equivilent to Reynolds?),where as the standard Monocog (and my ride, the d440) has regular ole 4130 chromoly (tho double butted for a lighter weight). Nothing wrong with going the cheaper route and getting the regular Monocog, they're helluva-bikes,especially for the $ invested, really hard to beat. I'm still beating on my '08 d440 (basically a Monocog with verticale dropouts) and it's showing no worse for wear,so unless I get a big boost in income (which I just might next year),I won't be retiring it anytime soon
