    New Monocog Owner

I just picked up a new 2010 Monocog 29er from my local dealer for $300 on closeout. I can't wait to get this thing out on the trail.

Just thought I would share the news with people that would appreciate it

now throw in 2 bb7's, speed dial levers, and your own choice color jagwire ripcord cables, for a total of about 145, and then you'll be styling

I got the same bike April 2010 new for $310 and could not be happier. I put some BB7 on it first thing and rode the S**t out of it last year. Loved it so much that i sold my full suspension and over the winter power coated frame and upgraded wheelset. The stock wheelset is super heavy and moving to some stans/hopes made a big difference. Enjoy!!

I use mine pretty much for the street only atm. got some big apples and a 42t chain ring with a 16t cog.
The stock v brakes are junk imo and they are the first to go.
I was checking out formula rx hydraulic brakes but they are just too much money so i will be installing bb7s. I was thinking about 203 for the front and 160 for the rear. will get some jagwire housing and not too sure on levers yet.
gonna replace the square taper bb with a race face atlas fr crankset and bb. chris king headset and maybe some salsa woodchipper bars. its all still up in the air for now as im waiting on Benjamin Franklin and his friends to get here.
really great deal on your cog. i spent about a hundred more dollars on mine than you did.
oh the non drive side bb cup likes to wind itself loose. you will feel it in the cranks pretty soon. just make sure you remove the non drive side crank arm and use the correct wrench to tighten it. mine came loose twice and i took it down to my lbs and just put some lock tight on the threads. so far so good. but i will be replacing the square taper design for an external bb in a couple days.
oh the handlebar grips are not very user friendly. they move around and dont provide very much comfort. my hands start to hurt pretty fast and thats something i will replace as well.
my cog just hauls with the big apples and i bet yours is pretty quick even with the knobbys.
keep us updated on how it goes.
