No good What is so hard about using the 29er components forum for components questions?

There is a whole forum devoted to questions about wheels, tyres, handlebars etc for 29ers.
It is called the 29er COMPONENTS forum.
On top of that there are additional forums devoted to general questions regarding brakes, suspension etc.
Why is it so hard for people to grasp this concept rather than posting them in the 29er BIKE forum.

Generally people are too lazy to read and understand the forums. Look how many people post without reading the entire threads.

What's the best tire for a 29er? Oh, I'm also looking the best handlebar, for a 29er...
Naysayers never apologize. Critics go to their grave thinking everyone else is wrong.

I'm a spaz about the right content going into the right forum as well, but I'm sure MTBR having like 700 forums doesn't help.

Seriously, why would you care? Skip the offensive threads...it's not like there is an overwhelming number of new threads per day on either forum, and this one is the most active. Today's new threads don't even get off the first page...so what's the downside to putting it on the more active forum, other than causing you to get your panties in a wad?

People should have to pass a quiz to gain access to the forums. It would be a series of questions like "If you have a question about your brakes and you own a 29er, what forum should you post in?" That sort of thing.

[BTW - the correct answer would be "Brake Time" or possibly "Beginner's Corner"]

    ^This

If you're allowing threads in a FORUM bother you, I don't think the threads are the problem. I don't really see it as a big deal.

I know a lot of people complain when someone posts up about certain components that are not necessarily specific to a 29er ... in fact, most components are generally not, unless someone is asking about wheels or forks or maybe gearing.

But I think people also know that it is the 29er forum(s) that get the most traffic ... therefore, if someone actually wants a response to their question, or an opinion, , their tendency is to post in the 29er or 29er Component forums...

Shouldn't this be placed in a new complaints about the use of the forums forum...?

    Umm really?
No there is currently about 5 active threads in the wrong forum.
    It is not hard.
If it is about a 29er bike or frame, it goes here.
If it is not, it doesn't.

That would be about as useful as writing my post down on a piece of paper and then throwing it into a fire.

Ummm, how about a 29er fork or a 29er wheelset?
But I agree that questions about brakes, stem, seatposts, saddles, lock on grips, cranksets etc do not need to be posted in the 29er components forum.

And how did I know that the anonymous negative reppers would have a field day.
Good to see that they have found something else to get their jolly's over.

Francois, if you read this, how about scrapping all of the forums completely and just having one. Seems to be unimportant to others to have different one's.

My mistake, carry on posting whatever crap you want.

I don't like the seatpost on my 29'er. Which seatpost will specifically fit my 29'er?

See, that's all good and what not, but it doesn't match the 29'er paint job on my 29'er bicycle.
