No good More neg rep for me

I just love it when these internet chicken *****s do stuff like this...

"Wow, you are easy to impress. Wanna buy a bridge?"

At least sign when you do these things fcuk stick. GBB<-kinda like that. DumbBoy.

I really don't care about rep points, It's a little silly IMO, I was just trying to show appreciation for a quality post by the WW.

    sprout a pair

I get a kick out of people who neg rep, leaving some snide comment. Yet to cowardly to sign it. They probobly can't ride a bike very well either. Seeing how they do'nt have a pair.

Here is a question, if rep is silly, then why is it on here to begin with?
I have learned over the past week that all you really have to do on MTBR to
get involved with conversations is to agree with the general consensus of the posters,
and don't have a different opinion on the subject, unless you want to get ripped a new one.
I joined to have intelligent discussions on a hobby I enjoy, not to have someone get bent and
dog someone until they just give up. I took Debating in High School back in "79" , not knowing
I would have to use it on a mountain bike forum to give an opinion. Some of the responses I have
seen to questions makes me wonder what people think of this hobby after reading them.
    Just an opinion.

Now I have to go poke my eyes out!

What's more disturbing than the actual picture is the fact that you knew where to go get the picture.

Rep is beyond silly, especially when you read some of the stuff written by people with lots of green chicklets. I've also read a few comments where people said they neg repped somebody, as if that was punishment to the person getting neg repped. So if any of you tools want to neg rep me feel free!

I haven't recieved any signed neg rep... But have given it.
It's got to be real bad for me to leave neg rep... Like pointless, derogitory, or incorrect info.
I'll sign it and let them know why they got it.

But yeah... I feel ya. Everyone gets that one DB that feels they are cool but are too cool to sign it.

MTBR just needs to change the setup to automatically sign ANY rep left...

I don't know. If I had said that CHUM writes stupid stuff I could almost understand his comment. Not all of the people who write stupid, sad sh*t on here have high rep counts either.

I get negative rep all the time. I don't rely on saying nice things or necessarily agree with postings. I speak my mind and take my hits. In for a penny, in for a pound.

Look at your feet. If you don't see them, it's time to go ride and quit jerking off at rep points

and yes, I did received signed neg rep. However, I did not took any revenge on the member, but simply ask them out why they think I deserved it. All worked out well anyway.

I just recently got my first for offering an opinion that differed from the thread starters.
Cry baby`s for sure, It would take a whole lot for me to leave neg. rep and then I still probably would just move on.It`s like ebay here if you sell something you live in fear of the a**wipe that goes around leaving bad feedback just to do it.

Don't stop posting your opinions because of some knuckleheads, the internet is full of them, agreeing with someone to get points is like a clique, social climbing, it has nothing to do with riding a bike, most posters just want to learn or talk about bikes, some just want green points, maybe its a competitive game to them, but the snide remarks and dissing keeps alot of people lurking, and not posting, not really helping anything, just keeping more people from posting their real opinions, and lurkers continue lurking, instead of contributing.
This is still one of the best Mountain Biking sites on the net.

you might be an idiot if.......

You might be an idiot if.......

You recommend a fellow rider to spend the remaining $800 budget left over after purchasing a $4000 bike on upgrading a wheelset most have'nt even riden.

If you defend Vassago after squating on thier own customers. Then supporting them by purchasing a sticker or t shirt supporting terrible business practices.

You spend $400 on Ti bolts, colored cables, carbon water bottle holders or any other bullsh*t that does'nt get you up or down the hill any better.

Insist on posing pics of your bike in front of the fireplace, on the dining room table, on top of the kitchens granite counter tops (seriously WTF ) Reminds me of taking a pic of an exotic animal in a cage. Where you can see the bars. Atleast take a pic of it in the grass or along side the trail. Where it looks like the bike gets riden. Pics taken in a garage are acceptable. It doesnt make the rest of us feel so bad about our garage being trashed. Plus its fun to laugh at some of the stuff in the background.

Post a thread asking/debating 26 vs 29. Use the search feature. This horse has been beat down.

If your overly concerned about having a moment while out riding. Either pack an extra pair of socks, some TP, corn cobs, news paper. If your in a pinch. Leaves will work.

If your offended by dogs, bears, coons, horses or any other animal squating on the trail. Buy yourself a mountain and build your own private trails. Your riding on public land. Deal with it.

Insist black is the only color for a mtn bike.

Whine about most forks only being available in white, when five years ago the only color people wanted was white. There was a time when riders purchased a front fork based on performance. Regaurdless of color.

MTBR has somewhat of a habit of drawing bike snobs. Just because someone can afford a $6000 bike does'nt entitle them to look down upon an entry level rider on a $1000 bike. If you dont have anything constructive to say. Simply move on. (You can post a pic of your expensive bike on top of your expensive vehicle. If your looking for that type of crowd).

Last but not least. Those that are upset about the mtn biker chick passion thread whatever the hell being locked. Someday you wil understand. (BTW... anyone see L's lately?)

Go ahead and neg rep me. My tiny three chicklet manhood does'nt care.

Wow! Finally, a breath of fresh air.

I would have never guessed negative energy could be so much fun! I should get out (on the bike) more.

Perhaps we need to come up with some community service to cleanse us of our sins, sorry, red chicklets...Or come up with a poker run: 3 trolls and 2 helmet debates is a full house that can't be beat.

i maxed out my rep giving in here. I saw some new chicklets grow. If only CHUM would be less stingy with his giving of the rep goodness then we all would be reptastic.

Now go write some reviews in the review section of MTBR.

When you get neg rep, you get frustrated.
When you get frustrated, you act out.
When you act out, your daughter imitates you.
When your daughter imitates you, she gets kicked out of school.
When your daughter gets kicked out of school, she falls in with undesirables.
When your daughter falls in with undesirables, she ties the knot with undesirables.
When she ties the knot with undesirables, she ends up pregnant, and you end up with a grandson with a dog collar.
Don't have a grandson with a dog collar.
Your fear of looking stupid is holding you back.

If someone doesn't feel comfortable leaving an open, negative comment, why should he or she be allowed to leave anonymous negative reputation points? If you can't say it aloud, then you have no right to take down a person's reputation.

I guess some people can say, "who cares about rep, because this is virtual world." But we all care if we are posting.

The owners of this site should make it mandatory to sign any reputation comments. If you are afraid to put your name on it, then you shouldn't be publishing it.

I believe mountain bikers are a bit daring. Certainly, we can man-up to our statements.

    I think the whole "rep" thing is about as accurate as the average online business reviews;
People b***h and moan when they have a bad experience, but if they have a positive experience, people rarely talk about it.

And on a personal note, i just discovered where my rep comments were.... i only have 3 negative reps all from defending Judaism/Jews in one thread filled with nazi mimic'ers/sympathizers, haha. How that ended up on mtbr, i have no idea. Did you guys know there are apparently nazi mtn bikers???? crazy world, huh?

    Prolly less accurate. Sadly.

MTBR has endured it's growing pains through the years, but the core members have kept it afloat, so far. When I see a noob from May 2011 with more magic green chicklets than any of the life-vests, I wonder how long we have.

    Who cares?

I didn't even know where to look for these rep comments until now. Who cares? Is this junior high school? I got about a dozen neg reps for suggesting we should only post about biking in the Passion forum. Amazingly I got a negative rep for my "pretentious" post of this ride in Mendocino, CA. I think a lot of these negative folks don't actually ride so they are afraid to identify themselves.

    You mad bro ?

Hey, it's not because you have 7 more years of registered forum member that you have the right to bash about those who enjoy as well the site. Yeah, I post a lot. I ride as much as I can too. I'm proud to know that my posts are at least helping those "noobs" to get more into our sport then simply trolling a board. Yes, like most of us here, I like to post into Off Topic threads and make sarcastic comments when the occasion is right. If I get a lot of rep points, it's mostly for posting helpful informations and helping out other members. Yeah, I'll say about 30% of it is just because people like me, but i'm not begging anyone for rep. I appreciate if they do, but if they don't I'm okay with it.

However, the rep system could have never existed and things might br better or worse than they are right now... Neg rep suck. Pos rep is fun. But I don't think this should get us afraid of posting and standing up if we don't agree with someone. Why is our community trying to bash each other ? We're all in the same boat, trying to enjoy biking as max possible and trying to escape from work at the office by coming in here. In Montreal, one of the biggest MTB bike shop don't even stock FS or high end mountain bike anymore. Because the MTB community is going down fast since the cars are taking over our primary transport infrastructures. We have a mountain on our island, and they are chasing us from the old DH trails, saying we don't belong there. Even winter biking community has to hang up together to at least have our bike path free of snow and parked cars over the winter. We had a guy getting push by a car and committing an hit & run. He took his license plate number, reported to the police station and they didn't even mind about... So are we gonna trash each others up even on MTBR ?

    Same road.
    Same rights.
    Same rules.

You'll be surprised to learn that is the typical conversation habits of most people, it's not just limited to mountain bikes of forums. It tends to take place in any medium where people feel like they can inflate their ego somehow, it's a rather peculiar behavior but when you really think about why it happens it really is quite hilarious. Or sad, it depends how depraved your sense of humor is. Now you can feel empathetic when you see a pack of wild animals fighting, or even the neighborhood cats and dogs because it's the same struggle for power. The great news is that we are a very advanced species, so we can digitize or dominance defining behaviors. Bottom line is the internet is serious business and not liking what I don't like is absolutely unacceptable.

First rule in MTBR's Posting Guidlines:

"The message insults or degrades another member of the community"

...of course, unless, it's through an anonymous private-like message, that you cant block, ignore or report, posted on your account - a supposed "enhancement" that you can't opt out of.

The rep system doesn't enhance this site one bit.

Nice! Either that, or give people an "opt out" option. We can opt out of using an avatar, having a signature, subscription notices, etc. but I don't see why not this. The rep system a point of contention on these boards for many. It is obviously not enhancing the site for some.

Has there been a "I love the rep system" thread? Maybe... but threads complaining about it seem to come up every week. I only give positive reputation - I don't have any reason/need to antagonize anybody for an opinion. If somebody says something I don't like, I just let it go.
